This candidate will provide support to the 160th Signal Brigade or subordinate Battalions’ AOR.

Locations: Camp Arifjan, Kuwait

Security Clearance: Active Secret Level Clearance 

Minimum Experience

  • Information systems engineering experience in information technologies performing information systems engineering to translate the functional requirements and performance objectives into design criteria and specifications for the individual elements and subsystems
  • 5 years of experience with: Designing and developing engineering functions to support information systems and implementation of outside plant cable distribution systems (duct, direct buried and aerial), cable termination systems, main distribution frames, building distribution frames, fiber optics terminating systems, fiber optics cable systems (single and multimode fiber cable), copper cable systems, coax cable distribution systems, NSA Type 1encrypted cable transmissions systems, protected distribution systems, Channel Service Unit (CSU)/Data Service Unit (DSU) cable transmissions systems, xDSL based cable transmissions systems and troubleshooting any problems relating to all cabling discussed.

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform system design and development engineering functions to support the engineering and acquisition of information systems including the following: buried duct systems, copper cable distribution, fiber optics cable distribution, man-hole systems, hand-hole systems, aerial cable distribution, telecommunications pole systems, signal grounding systems, lightning protection systems, main cable distribution frames, building cable distribution frames, overall cable plant designs, protected distribution systems, cable splicing and termination, and horizontal distribution.
  • Conduct pre and post site surveys of E&I projects and provide written and or verbal input and engineering guidance.
