SSU is currently recruiting for a Physical Security Services Specialist to support United States Special Operation Command – Korea (SOCKOR). This opportunity is an on-site / office position for an active contract.

Job Location: USAG -Humphreys, ROK and SOCKOR FOS CFAC near Chinhae, ROK

Security Clearance: TS, SCI eligible

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Physical Security Service Specialist shall support the Command Security Manager / Special Security Office with specific security services. Duties shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as a trusted agent in reviewing security contracts to make pricing and technical evaluation recommendations to Government lead.
  • Assist in reviewing, correcting, and tracking requests for investigations, security clearances and reporting requirements of unfavorable information obtained.
  • Assist in performing preliminary reviews of investigation reports, and suggests an initial determination of individual’s suitability, trustworthiness and reliability using Joint Personnel Adjudications System, and follow-on systems.
  • Assist in and report on the research, review, interpretation, evaluation, and integration of correspondence on sensitive security issues, conduct inspections, site security visits and assists in the findings and development for recommended changes and/or modifications required.
  • Assist in developing, drafting, documenting, and recommending policies and procedures for implementing programs for personnel, information, physical, industrial, SCI, and SAP security.
  • Carry out tasks, as needed or directed, associated with implementing security training, paperwork, education, and awareness events. Assist in the development of material utilized for security awareness education and training.
  • Provide physical security and access control technical expertise and provide recommendations for collateral and SCI facilities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of physical security standards and procedures. Conduct in-depth physical security vulnerability assessments geared toward the protection of classified material. Troubleshoot access control systems and their associated networks.
  • Assist in DIA SCIF accreditation processing and security planning documentation for construction of SCI facilities.
  • Ensure all security systems (i.e., fencing, Closed-Circuit Television, locking mechanisms, lighting, intrusion detection systems, access control devices, etc.) comply with DOD installation, maintenance, and monitoring standards.
  • Performs duties as a GSA-certified secure locksmith.
  • Live and work in an operational environment when required (e.g., semiannual exercises operating from CP Tango, FOS-I, USAG-Daegu).
  • The work of this position is sedentary; however, light physical effort is required.
  • The work is typically performed in an adequately lit and climate-controlled office.

Qualifications:

  • Fluently speak, read, and write English
  • 2 years of experience and knowledge with DoD personnel security requirements
  • Current certification in Information Security and support to SCI Information System Security
  • Current certification in DoD and USSOCOM physical security requirements
  • Familiarity with the use of Microsoft Office and SharePoint products
  • Ability to work in a high tempo, high stress environment with minimal oversight
  • Valid Korean or International Driver’s License
  • Ability to obtain a USFK Motor Vehicle Operators Permit and operate Government Non-Tactical
  • Vehicles (NTVs) in accordance with USFK Regulation 190-1
  • GSA-certified safe and vault technician
